Thousands of Allied POWs moved through camps across the Philippines, Japan, Formosa, Korea, Manchuria, and other areas occupied by Japan.
Understanding those camps is essential to reconstructing an individual POW’s journey.
We invite members to create topics about individual camps and share camp rosters, maps, photographs, liberation reports, diaries, war-crimes records, Japanese documents, and personal accounts.
When creating a camp topic, please include the camp’s official or commonly used name and location in the title whenever possible.
Our long-term goal should be to connect POWs, camps, Hellship voyages, and archival sources so that individual journeys through captivity can be reconstructed.
